Editorial Reviews
Doctor Who: Series 11 Original TV Soundtrack - Bigger and bolder than ever, Series 11 marks the arrival of the Thirteenth Doctor, award-winning actress Jodie Whittaker. a super-smart explorer of the universe, alongside a team of new friends and delightful characters. The new series heralds a brand-new era for Doctor Who, full of action and adventure, humour and heart an unmissable high-end drama everyone will enjoy. Segun Akinola is a multi-talented composer who has strengthened many projects with his musical acumen and is a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit. Segun's work includes scoring BBC Two's landmark four-part series Black and British: A Forgotten History, written and presented by Historian David Olusoga. He also scored Shola Amoo's debut feature film A Moving Image, which had it's world premiere at the 2016 LA Film Festival. 'Where do I even begin?! Working on series 11 has been nothing short of the experience of a lifetime. I have loved every single minute of it. From working closely with the production team, to writing the character themes to recording the New Year Special, it's truly been so much fun.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2019After several years of glorious scores by a Murray Gold, this is a new take
On the series soundtrack. It harkens back to scores we heard in the Classic series of earlier years. Like the show, it’s quirky and enjoyable.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2019With the radical changes to the show and production staff, it made sense for the music to change as well. Like the show, the music has gone from epic to understated. Much of it is dark and atmospheric reminiscent not of classic Who, but of Christopher Franke's work on Babylon 5. Standouts include the bright 'Sonic Screwdriver' and 'Yaz and Nani End Credits', an Indian choral version of the end credits, which sounds like it shouldn't work, but does.
The biggest negatives are the stretches of very quiet music. The first minute of the two minute 'Thirteen' is almost silent. In the show it just sounded like there was no music. On the CD it's basically wasted space. If you need a shut out the guy in the cube next to you eating and talking on the phone, this disc won't cut it. I would also like to see him bring back the 'middle 8' in the theme, at least for the closing credits.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2019This does have great music ( Theme Music, Morax, and Yaz and Nani End Credits come to mind ), but this album does have a problem with repeating the same notes over and over and over. I would recommend buying just a few songs digitally, rather than the whole package.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2019Unfortunately this bland and forgettable score harkens more to the American cheap SciFi TV scores of the present. Murray gold brought the full power of the orchestra and voices that brought the show to the level of theatrical films compared to the likes of John Williams and James Horner. Not that the writing in the new series gave him much help. Don't bother.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doctor Who Series 11 - Original TV Soundtrack
Colonna sonora del Dottore in versione femminile della Stagione 11. Ben fatta , audio più basso di altri cd ma comunque di ottima qualità. Bassi presenti e ben bilanciati medio alti ok puliti e dinamici.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!
Despite a lackluster written season, the soundtrack is absolutely stunning! With a selection of pieces from every episode, I was thrilled to hear 2 pieces from the new year's special. My only criticism is that the pieces from the first episode are very short, but I still enjoy them immensely.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fitting soundtrack to a great new Dr Who era
Being a massive fan of the Jodie Whittaker era on Dr Who, having both series, I also really liked the music for it too, and this item had all I could want on it and more.
Beginning with the opening titles, which for me, are the best of the revival, and the closing titles, as well as featuring all music for the other episodes, it was something I felt definitely worthy of the CD. It is now probably one of the best soundtracks I have, but it is the first TV show soundtrack I have, and what more fitting soundtrack than Dr Who.
The music for 'The Ghost Monument' was what partly sealed it for me, knowing I would really like it and want it, but other standouts include the excellent music for the episode 'Rosa', which personally I think should have at least won a Bafta nomination, even a win. It is a long soundtrack, consisting of two volumes, two CDs, but it is packaged very compactly, into a single flip over case and is great value. Volume one is better for me, but as a whole, it doesn't get much better than this. This is a terrific soundtrack, which I have already played a number of times. It does seem as if everything has come together for me with this era with Jodie; I like the opening, the theme, the new doctor, the companions are great and even the music here is brilliant, so simply a further thing to enjoy of this wonderful new era for Dr Who, which again for me, is the best so far.
