''Music From Porcelain'' is the companion album for Moby's autobiography, ''Porcelain,'' being released by Random House on May 17, 2016. The album is also the first comprehensive compilation of Moby's work starting in the 1990s and includes re-mastered recordings from Moby's early catalog. As a bonus, ''Music From Porcelain'' also contains a collection of some of the era's defining dance recordings that inspired Moby's early career. Moby is without question the most iconic and successful musician of the American Electronic Music scene. The book tour starting in May will stop in over 20 US cities where Moby will be doing local and national press, including TV appearances.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Maybe because I am a fan of Moby and interested in music history, especially which took place in the heart of Manhattan, even though I am originally from the West Coast, I found this history of Moby, by him, of his life up until his first big hit, Play, to be utterly compelling. His music is mesmerizing, and now I know that his writing is incredible: candid, self-deprecating, specific, and from the heart. The two cd's that came with it were perfect in that one has the artists that he played as a struggling dj, and the other has his works from that period. If there were a rating that allowed even more stars, I would give them to this fantastic book!!!
This is definately a cd to go with the book. If you read the book you will have a much greater appreciation of the music. I defy you to listen to GO and not dance! Loved it!
I bought this thinking that it was the full two disc album as nowhere on the order page does it mention it being a single or limited edition record. There's only 4 tracks, which are good, but not worth the exorbitant price. I ended up downloading a FLAC copy of the proper album. This is a rip off, don't buy.
