About Us
Founded in Napoli by Serafino Perugino, as a business specialized in Melodic Rock indie labels in February 1996, Frontiers soon developed as one of the cutting edge indie label companies in Melodic and Hard Rock Music. After a developing a partnership - which lasted the few initial years with the British production company Now & Then (who brought bands and artists like TEN, HAREM SCAREM, CROWN OF THORNS, JORN and several others into the label’s roster) - along with a careful and aggressive A&R policy, Frontiers has soon become synonymous with quality Classic and Melodic Hard Rock, Progressive and Metal music in the international markets.
Achieving this from the headquarters in Napoli, was not an easy task, but the well-oiled and highly ambitious team, managed in a few years to release new albums from some of Rock true giants. The list includes: DEF LEPPARD, TOTO, WHITESNAKE, YES, JOURNEY, ALAN PARSONS, MICHAEL BOLTON, SURVIVOR, SEBASTIAN BACH, STYX, ASIA, JEFF LYNNE and ELO, HEART, BLACKMORE’S NIGHT, GLENN HUGHES, Y&T, FOREIGNER, EXTREME, SAMMY HAGAR, WINGER, URIAH HEEP, DANGER DANGER, RICK SPRINGFIELD, HOUSE OF LORDS, REO SPEEDWAGON, STRYPER, MR BIG, TED NUGENT, NIGHT RANGER, PRIMAL FEAR, NELSON, WARRANT, GREAT WHITE, DENNIS DEYOUNG and many more!
Besides that, Frontiers also set up during this time many exciting new projects and bands to release of Rock's finest voices, or give some still established artists the chance to show a new side of their musical personality! Shining examples are REVOLUTION SAINTS (featuring Deen Castronovo ex-Journey, Doug Aldrich ex-Whitesnake and Jack Blades of Night Ranger), RATED X (feat. Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Tony Franklin and Karl Cochran), W.E.T (with Jeff Scott Soto and members of Eclipse and Work of Art), THE DARK ELEMENT (featuring ex-Nightwish singer Anette Olzon and ex-Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen) not forgetting the evolution of KANSAS' Billy Greer and his SEVENTH KEY release, from a studio project to a real live band and the stunning PRIDE OF LIONS, featuring former SURVIVOR main songwriter Jim Peterik and vocal star Toby Hitchcock.
And of course a ton of exciting new talent launched during the years (from ECLIPSE to ONE DESIRE and INGLORIOUS, to CRAZY LIXX, LORDS OF BLACK, WORK OF ART and of course several others) which is now where the A&R focus of the label is.
Frontiers Records' foreword has always been to dream together with the thousands of people that love quality Rock music. Achieving this means constant hard work from a well-oiled and highly ambitious team at the Frontiers Records headquarters in Napoli, Italy.

Editorial Reviews
After a self-imposed exile from the music industry and the public eye, heralded guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands) returned with a fresh new band, Red Dragon Cartel in 2014. The band's debut album included participation from a number of special guests, including Maria Brink from In This Moment, Jeremy Spencer from Five Finger Death Punch, and Robin Zander from Cheap Trick, but the plan was always to create a proper new artistic vehicle for Jake to bring back his own style of music and playing that has earned him so many admirers around the globe. Jake's comeback was greeted with much enthusiasm from the fans and media alike and the virtuoso guitarist is back once again to grace the rock world with his unbridled skill! With an extremely talented band featuring Anthony Esposito on bass (ex-Lynch Mob), Phil Varone (ex-Saigon Kick, Skid Row) on drums and singer Darren Smith (Harem Scarem) backing him up, Jake has delivered the album fans have been eager to hear since Badlands dissolved years ago. "Patina," the new album, is a definitive statement of Jake's unbelievable skills. The record returns to the bluesy, fierce hard rock sound of the Badlands days, updated with a monster production from Esposito and a perfect mix, courtesy of Max Norman whose relationship with Jake dates back to his days with Ozzy Osbourne. Get ready, "Patina" is coming and with it, Jake E. Lee is BACK!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2023Great! If you're looking for something that sounds unique from a veteran artist, you won't go wrong here. Jake carries with him his own sound. Not just in his guitar tone, but also his own unique quality in song craft. Creative great riffs and break-away solos that don't & won't sound like anyone else. Something you won't get with most veteran rockers. Seems, with each release of his, he's pushing forward with something different than any of his previous. Shame this gets zero radio air play anywhere. My only gripe with Jake, is the long gaps between releases, but if that's what it takes to create different feel on each record, I'll take it.
BTW - Saw him at Rams Head On-stage somewhat recently and I was impressed being seated up close and seeing Jake Rip-It-up. Took some friends along that were unfamiliar with his music, and they were impressed as well.
Jake, if you're reading this, please come back again to Annapolis, MD.
Also, get us a new CD. Many of my music heroes are putting out stuff just sounds contrived and generic.
Thanks for always releasing nothing but quality with everything you've put out for us who are really into our music (hard).
FYI - if your purchase, make sure to give this at least (5) full listens before deciding if it's to your liking. Took me several listens before it hit me, now I have to hide the disk for fear over overplaying it. I've done this before with great CD's (Highway to Hell, VH1, Zepplin II, et al.) Want to be able to reach for this till it can't ascend from my rocking chair in order to play it.
Grab all Jake's releases (2 with Ozzy, 3 Badlands, 2 solo, 2 RDC) There all great, each sounding different than the other.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2019As much as I liked the first Red Dragon Cartel album, this one is much better. Sass Jordan and Robin Zander do not return for guest spots and Darren Smith does all vocals on this album. And he does a damned fine job of it!
The difference is all in production and it shows here. They way Jake explained it in an interview, he was not present for the recording of the singing parts during the first album except for Sass Jordan's. Smith told Jake afterward that the producer was pushing him to scream into the mic, which was unfortunate as it detracted from the overall musical quality of his songs and garnered a lot of negative criticism from reviewers.
This one is different. Smith was allowed to sing like he and Jake wanted and it turns out that he's really, really good! I was pleasantly surprised and I think you guys who are on the fence about buying this one will like it too.
They played as a band while recording this one. No separation of band during recording, no autotune, no beat detective, no bullshit. The songwriting is much improved as well. The new bassist is several tiers higher calibre than the original, the drumming is solid, and Jake's guitar playing is as good as anything he's ever done. There's even a song that has heavy Jazz influence and Jake's playing takes an unexpected and pleasurable direction.
Let me qualify that last clause a little bit: Jake doesn't burn down the house on leads for the most part on this album. And that's okay. We all know Jake can play and he doesn't feel the need to prove it on every song. This is the same approach guitar great Richie Kotzen takes and I totally respect that. Some fans may be disappointed but it doesn't bother me in the least. His chords have great depth and breadth, he's on key and on time. Every note has a purpose and he doesn't miss a beat. He's a top notch notch if underrated guitarist and definitely deserves your respect and a listen.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2021Fantastic album by RDC. When I first heard this album I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t grab me immediately. There are a couple of songs that you can get into quick but the other stuff WILL grow on you, and once it has you will love this album. This feels a lot more like a band than the first album which was great but this is better in my humble opinion. Buy it, crank it, listen to it, love it.
Pros: nothing to say just fantastic music and great dirty bluesy guitar sounds by Jake E Lee (which I had the honors to meet at Sweden Rock Festival), soaring vocals from Darren Smith and a a solid rhythm section by Phil Varone and Anthony Esposito.
Cons: the mastering is “slightly” too low on the vinyl (which I bought) so there a bit of elevated surface noise between the songs but it’s still a 5 star album
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2018Great effort, and does feel like a band here. While I did like the debut, it just did not feel like a band, as it was a bunch of stuff put together. Either way a good listen. On Patina, you can tell they put there time in. While the stand out tracks are probably the first two released, Havana and Crooked Man, I really appreciate the last four. Jake is tearing up some dirty tones throughout (love the fuzz), and you do catch glimpses of a Fine Pink Mist as someone else has mentioned.
Darren has settled in nicely, I believe. There are a few moments that he shows some vocal abilities that you would not expect. Anthony and Phil are definitely a nice addition to RDC, and this probably would not have happened without Anthony from what I have read. A great listen and do recomend it for those that are like me and feel that the current state of rock music is lacking. Will be looking for a live show with these guys in my neighborhood. Lacking a star, because it just did not grab me in as let's say the Badlands debut. All in all a great effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buen disco.
Quizá está continuación del proyecto de Jake, es un poco más flojo musicalmente hablando. Hay cierto desencanto del guitarra al panorama musical pero aún así mantiene un nivel muy decente.

5.0 out of 5 stars Was für Blues-Heavy-Rock Liebhaber
Sehr empfehlungswert!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottimo.
